Go Birding with us

Saturday morning birdwalks - Join us most Saturdays from 8:00 to 10:00 AM for an enjoyable trip to a local birding hotspot. There is no charge except a share in the gas. We meet at the store to carpool and return to shade grown coffee and bagels. Please call the store Friday nights after 7:00 PM and the answering machine will let you know where we are going. If the location is close to where you live, please meet us there allowing us travel time from the store.

Monthly Birding Field Trips - Once a month we enjoy an entire day birding in the field. Experienced leaders are arranged for these trips and plan the day to birding hot spots located in the greater bay area.There is charge for these field trips and reservations are required.

First Wednesday of the Month Audubon Trip to Sunnyvale Pollution Control Plant
September 3 & October 1, Noon-1pm
Bring your binoculars (loaners are available) and meet Freddy, Elaine and Bobbie out at the Sunnyvale Pollution Control Plant where Borregas and Caribbean meet off of 237. We will see raptors and shorebirds and lots of returning ducks. After entering the plant turn left at the first stop sign and continue to the end of the parking area. No Charge

San Francisco Botanical Garden at Strybing Arboretum
Saturday, August 16, 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM
Fall migration will be starting up and hopefully if it's warm here, it will cooler there. We will tour the various habitat gardens that held lots of interesting birds last year.
Reservations Required, Space Limited.
Fee: $5 donation to Strybing plus share of gas.

Golden Gate Raptor Observatory/Hawk Hill
Saturday, September 20, 10-4 PM
The count cycle has started for all the migrating hawks coming down the coast. We're timing this to be after fog and close to the noon presentation and 1 PM banded bird release.
Fee: $5 donation to Golden Gate Raptor Observatory plus share of gas.
